I Don’t Need Readers, I Need Ballers

My favorite way to consume business content is to listen to podcasts. Most of my best business ideas are contained in the Lifestyle Business Podcast, which has close to 60,000 downloads since we began recording shows. You can subscribe to at iTunes then plug in your iPhone or iPod and receive automatic updates. It’s pretty cool. Also, we’ve got an outstanding episode coming out on Tuesday, which I think you’ll like. It’s cool to load up on podcasts then you can binge when you are traveling or road trippin’. (Speaking of which, I’m going to SXSW, you?). We’ve had a lot of stuff going on there lately:

In another few episodes we’ll put the first 50 Episodes up for sale for around 100 bucks. That helps us pay for the editing and production of the show, which is very expensive. Shortly I’ll invest in a decent microphone so I don’t sound like I’m in a tin can. Baby steps.

I’m also regurlarly blogging about the Philippines. We are going to be doing a ton more work in the Philippines this year (I’m heading back there in March) so be sure to follow that blog if you want fresh updates on the hottest place on the planet to offshore your business or to hire English speaking staff:

This is one of the lazier internet marketing blogs you’ll come across. I’m pretty sure the header is messed up. I’m not popping up stuff in front of the articles. I can’t figure out how to optimize on-site time. That footer plugin is a little screwy. I get the photos from my iPhone (that’s one click quicker than Flickr).

I originally started this blog to find people to join me while I traveled the world and did internet marketing stuff. Now, with a few keystrokes I can hire incredible freaking people for below market rates. Case study for entrepreneurs: at the end of this post I briefly mentioned I wanted to train a new SEO professional for an irresponsibly low salary: I got 14 excellent applications and selected an excellent candidate with a great skill set.

Same goes when I wanted to pull together a mastermind group to help me grow my business. I received 9 outstanding applications and selected 3.

My life has totally changed since @AnythingIan and I spent a crap-ton of money and bought a company. We have a TON more freedom in the way we organize our operation. This month we’ve had our best month ever in terms of revenues and it’s a bit of a mind blow to be honest. We’ll be finalizing a financial plan tomorrow and trying to be an intelligent combination of fiscally smart and insanely ambitious in 2011.

What that means for these blogs is that I’ll get the opportunity to spend a lot more time on them. :) That’s cool because my absolute passion is being creative and helping other business people. Both things blogs are pretty good at.

Since TMBA is already an effective baller magnet, I’d like to get a little more ambitious with what we are all up to here and spend 2011 turning the site in to an effective MBA alternative.

We’ll also be bring a lot more people in to our inner circle– our plans need firepower. Expect more Tropical MBA internships shortly with a mandatory Bali trip involved.

Why the hell not?

Subscribe. It’ll be good.

Cheers from sunny San Diego,

Dan

I think you can pay irresponsibly low salaries because of the good working conditions and they get to work with a good “boss”. Can’t wait to see what you announce next!

He rhymes Lamborghini with fettuccine, so I don’t really think I need to say anything else about this song. 642. “If the World was Mine”: You can tell he’s smoking and talking with smoke still in his mouth, which is just a baller move to make for a …
