Work With Us : Seeking an Email Professional

Turquoise blue water and cliffs

<Update: This job post has closed. Thanks to all of the applicants, we’ll be in contact with anyone who we’d like to talk to further>

My goal for the rest of 2016 is to post at the TMBA blog every Tuesday morning, 8AM EST.

I love reading blogs, but haven’t been writing them for a long while. I hope to change that, even if it means short update posts or job ads like this one.

Job opportunities have always been a big part of what we do at TMBA, and I expect we’ll ramp that up in the coming months as Ian and I put together a plan to make investments in the businesses of our readers. Those partnerships will likely involve staffing those businesses with talented operators.

Last year, at this time, Ian and I had over 20 full-time employees. Since we sold our business, that number is down to a handful of us who work on the business on a day-to-day basis. We’re looking to add a small, but important component to the team.

We need somebody to help us draft, edit, and send emails to our readers and members. If you’ve got a track record in writing engaging e-mails, we want to hear from you.

This gig is (very) part-time, good for those with full-time jobs, agencies, or a handful of clients. There’s only about five emails that we need written every month, and the compensation reflects that. Historically, this has been a consistent gig (the DC community is over 5 years old). Many of the contractors that have worked with us in the past have built businesses off the reputation they built with our community.

You should be familiar with email automation software (we use Drip, and some Aweber) and a deep understanding of metrics and how to improve them.

As a team, we’re fond of critical feedback, and you’ll have a lot room to get creative and implement ideas. That said, this gig is all about consistency. If you can demonstrate that you’re in it for the long haul, we’ll favor your application.

If this sounds like something you’re up for, just you can apply here. If your bid makes it to the next round, you’ll be contacted by our operations manager Alex McQuade.

The deadline is August 19th.

Cheers,

Dan
