Dan and Ian have shared many stories on this show about luck, serendipity and being in the right place at the right time.

But what if that luck isn’t totally random?

Today’s episode is about entrepreneurs (and specifically listeners of this show) connecting to help each other out on their entrepreneurial journey.

It begins with Greg Gerber, who posted in our private membership forum The Dynamite Circle offering to give one lucky entrepreneur an all-expenses paid trip to our annual conference in Bangkok, DC BKK.

The recipient of that gift was Madeleine Lambert. Madeleine started a content marketing business called Content Refined last year.

She and Greg have joined us today to share the story of Greg’s gift and how Madeleine’s business has grown since she received it.

Listen to this week’s show and learn:

  • What motivated Greg to give this gift. (2:36)
  • How Madeleine met her business partner and started Content Refined. (12:08)
  • Why Madeleine decided to join the Dynamite Circle. (19:59)
  • Specific steps Madeleine has taken to grow her business since DC BKK and the results she has seen. (22:53)
  • Madeleine’s advice for other women in the entrepreneurial community. (29:00)

I went to the Content Refined website after seeing this episode. I found a mistake you’ll likely want to fix. It should be “Market Muse” here:

I know I would be hesitant to use a content marketing company that doesn’t get basic spelling right on its own website on a section talking about quality control.

Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Couldn’t have worked out any better! So happy for Maddie and everything she’s accomplished since.

It was great to see the community come together and contribute. I’m proud that when all was said and done, we collectively sent 4 kickass entrepreneurs to DCBKK.

Talking to and getting to know all the applicants was great fun and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

  • Hi Maddie, I totally identified with what you said about being a woman in this field! Do you mind telling me (maybe privately) in which conference you were talked down to?

  • Damn this has got to be the fastest growing company / success story in the DC since WP Curve / Design Pickle. Enjoyed this episode.

    Congrats Greg, this was rad.

  • Madeleine Taylor

Hey there! Thanks for commenting and giving us a heads up- we’ve actually had quite a few emails about this same thing so I understand the confusion! MarketMuse is actually a piece of software that we use to score content and this actually is the proper spelling of the software.

Thanks Dan and Ian for having me on the show, it was such a fun episode to record!

Thank you to Greg and all the other sponsors for helping both myself and Content Refined so much this year. What a ride. Can’t wait for DCBKK 2018!
